This weekend we took a very short trip from the Marina and moored up near the Isis Farmhouse pub (just above Iffley Lock).
We hadnt intended to cruise too far and had to be back home early on Sunday so we stopped here for a late lunch and a few drinks. Unfortunately the pub does not take debit cards so we had a walk in the sun on the hottest day of the year so far (why is it always uphill?).
The Isis Farmhouse serves a good range of local beers and cider, I cant remember the name of the brewery, will have to go back and check :-), and the food (although not many choices on the menu) was very good.
Being a Saturday afternoon the pub was very busy but there were plenty of tables in the Garden. A very relaxing afternoon.
We returned to the boat early evening and had dinner while we were entertained by a couple who had stopped their bikes near to the boat and had a sweary argument, luckily the noise from them was drowned out by passing ‘party boats’ playing music of the kind where you can only her the thump of the bass at great volume.
